Projects For Toddlers

While it may seem to be too much trouble to do craft projects with young children it can actually be quite beneficial, and easy! Like crafts for any age group, they can help boost creativity and give your child something to feel proud of. As long as the craft is not too complicated, your toddler will have a blast creating fun works of art.

As you’ve probably discovered, toddlers love to draw and color. Simply letting them do just that is a great way for them to spend time. Get down and do some coloring with them, it can be more fun that you think. Toddlers can have a surprising amount of imagination and exploring that with your child can be some of the most fun.

If you’re ready to get really messy, break out the paints. Find materials other than paint brushes to let your child get creative with. They don’t need to be drawing something specific to get creative, let them make shapes and designs that are both fun and unusual. This kind of project will probably be a lot more fun for you too. Use crumpled up paper, branches, or feathers. Use your imagination to come up with something fun to work with. Let your toddler help find objects and experiment with different “brushes”. By the end, you’re sure to have something interesting to hang on the fridge and both of you will have had fun.

If you want to get even more creative there are plenty of other craft activities you can do. When it come to crafting with toddlers, be sure to come up with something simple enough for them to understand and easy enough for them to participate in. Let them help you hunt down materials for your next craft project. Use cereal to make edible jewelry, or uncooked pasta and a plastic bottle to create a noise maker. Your toddler can have just as much helping you prepare the crafts as they do actually making them.
